Coalichain is a surprisingly unique organization when you consider the stark problem that they are working to solve: the imbalance of power between governance and the people.
One of very few non-partisan views these days is that our elected officials make promises to support our needs and values when trying to get elected, then pander to their donors when they are in office. This is precisely the breakdown Coalichain has its targets set upon.
CEO Levi Samana says “I discovered that politics and corruption of the few dominant people, are the main source of the lack in education, justice and equity.” and that “few people in a group, usually not experts, end up deciding everything for everyone.”
DIRECT AND LIQUID DEMOCRACY
Through the blockchain network, users can split their voice/vote and give their decision rights to different representatives / people in the group, according to the different governance domains. The voice transfer is flexible, so users can switch representatives/experts if elected officials do not take the right actions.
How does Coalichain use blockchain to leverage the balance of governance and the will of the people? It makes the system decentralized, transparent and open. No one can make any changes in the system without changing any subsequent blocks or data points in the blockchain. As a result of which Coalichain cannot change anything at their end because the system is a peer to peer network.
SMART CONTRACTS
Smart contracts permit trusted transactions and agreements to be carried out among disparate, anonymous parties without the need for a central authority, legal system, or external enforcement mechanism. Parameters are inputted, parties agree and you have a truth machine based on said parameters.
