Coalichain is a surprisingly unique organization when you consider the stark problem that they are working to solve: the imbalance of power between governance and the people.

One of very few non-partisan views these days is that our elected officials make promises to support our needs and values when trying to get elected, then pander to their donors when they are in office. This is precisely the breakdown Coalichain has its targets set upon.

CEO Levi Samana says “I discovered that politics and corruption of the few dominant people, are the main source of the lack in education, justice and equity.” and that “few people in a group, usually not experts, end up deciding everything for everyone.”

Through the blockchain network, users can split their voice/vote and give their decision rights to different representatives / people in the group, according to the different governance domains. The voice transfer is flexible, so users can switch representatives/experts if elected officials do not take the right actions.

How does Coalichain use blockchain to leverage the balance of governance and the will of the people? It makes the system decentralized, transparent and open. No one can make any changes in the system without changing any subsequent blocks or data points in the blockchain. As a result of which Coalichain cannot change anything at their end because the system is a peer to peer network.

Smart contracts permit trusted transactions and agreements to be carried out among disparate, anonymous parties without the need for a central authority, legal system, or external enforcement mechanism. Parameters are inputted, parties agree and you have a truth machine based on said parameters.

Shahar Larry, Chief Concept Architect breaks it down: “Smart contracts never forget. Smart contracts cannot be bribed.”

Zuz - their cryptocurrency used to facilitate transactions: payment for services, campaign financing, donations and support.

To stabilize a platform designed to serve the needs of millions, Coalichain found some challenges. Their blockchain dev started communicating with the Ethereum network directly and quickly found more than a few breaks and fails in the calls. The choice was to spend countless resources to manually manage in house, or look to another solution.

Coalichain turned to QuickNode. They found a simple way to spin up an Ethereum node, connect to the ETH network, and configure secure end to end calls with high performance. Coalichain also noted something close to home that we really strive for -  “a great, kind and responsive team.”

After using QuickNode for blockchain node management, Coalichain developers were able to get back to focusing on their mission: developing technology to make governing and the people's will balanced.

As blockchain technology evolves through the Ethereum network well beyond cryptocurrency, we begin to see how it can fix deeply broken processes and conventions like governance and accountability among our elected officials. However, if the bedrock technology supporting such a mission isn’t rock solid, it loses its purity and power.

At QuickNode we are trusted to support missions as big as Coalichain’s with secure, high performing web3 infrastructure. The Coalichain team can pursue their goals without wasting time on node management. QuickNode streamlines & accelerates operations for such missions, keeping the core node infrastructure intact so teams can focus on innovation and development.
