QuickNode Launches Cyber Mainnet: An Ethereum L2 Powering Web3 Social
Get ready to elevate your web3 social apps with QuickNode’s integration of Cyber Mainnet, the Ethereum L2 platform designed for scalability and flexibility. Discover how QuickNode can boost your project from idea to launch, streamlining your blockchain development journey.
In the dynamic realm of blockchain technology, social applications have emerged as game-changers, serving as gateways to mass adoption. By seamlessly incorporating blockchain capabilities into everyday social interactions, these applications are poised to democratize decentralized technology, making it accessible and user-friendly for millions and paving the way for a future where blockchain is an integral part of our lives.
To make this process easier and further increase blockchain adoption, QuickNode, the leading blockchain development platform, has partnered with Cyber to revolutionize how users engage with blockchain through social applications.
Now, let's learn about the Cyber chain and how it aims to change the landscape of decentralized social applications.
What is Cyber L2?
Cyber is the first restaked Ethereum layer 2 designed for decentralized social applications. It features like native smart accounts (account abstraction) and seedless wallets (Passkey and Webauthn). Cyber makes the user experience of decentralized applications simple and similar to other Web2 applications that most people are already familiar with.
Cyber is a modular EVM chain built on top of Optimism's OP Stack. Continuous development on OP Stack makes it future-proof Optimism's OP Stack and makes it interoperable with other EVM chains. The data availability layer of Cyber is built with Eigenlayer's EigenDA, which reduces the transaction costs for users and offers security via Ethereum restaking in a pool.
Decentralized Sequencer
Sequencers are critical to the functioning of a Layer 2 network, and their unavailability can disrupt transaction processing, forcing users to submit transactions directly to Layer 1, leading to long delays and poor user experience. To mitigate risks such as censorship, single points of failure, and malicious MEVs, Cyber L2 utilizes a secure and fast decentralized sequencer network powered by a dual-stake model involving both the CYBER token and EigenLayer's restaked ETH. This allows users to either run their own node or stake with AVS operators to earn network rewards.
Decentralized Verifier
Optimistic rollups rely on at least one honest entity to verify the state claimed by rollup operators, ensuring it matches the proper execution of transactions. Cyber L2 employs a decentralized verification network using the same dual-stake model to detect and challenge incorrect state claims. Users can participate by running a node or staking with preferred operators to earn network rewards.
CyberDB
CyberDB offers a secure, scalable, and Ethereum-compatible storage solution for social dApps, allowing users to keep data private and off-chain.
Open Social Data Network: CyberDB combines a modular gossip layer and a verifiable storage layer backed by restaked ETH, ensuring data availability and redundancy through Ethereum validators and geographically dispersed nodes.
Ethereum Compatibility: CyberDB integrates with Ethereum accounts (EOAs and Smart Contract Accounts), enabling easy data management and payment using token assets on Cyber L2.
Optimism Superchain Commitment
Cyber is creating an entire ecosystem of social applications, which is not just limited to the Cyber chain but can be extended to the entire Optimism Superchain ecosystem. All the existing users of any Superchain L2 can access social data on the Cyber chain, which is uniquely positioned to experiment with native-AA, passkey curve precompile, gas sponsorship, and other economic designs, thus bringing social networking features across the Superchain. Users of applications on the cyber chain will be able to access the entire on-chain Superchain economy.
Why QuickNode for Cyber Development?
Anyone can start building on the Cyber chain by signing up for a QuickNode account and creating a Cyber JSON-RPC endpoint. The following are the benefits of using QuickNode for Cyber development:
- Dedicated Endpoints: Public endpoints are great for getting started, but since they are free and available to everyone, they are rate-limited to avoid abuse from a single user. With QuickNode, you can create a dedicated endpoint to interact with Cyber nodes. So, you don't hit those rate limits on the public endpoints.
- Free Tier: Anyone can get started with a free forever plan.
- Speed & Stability: With QuickNode's robust infrastructure, you won't have to worry about higher latencies and node stability. See how QuickNode's performance stacks up for yourself with the comparison tool.
- Scalability & Reliability: With nodes in 14+ regions and load-balancing solutions under the hood, QuickNode RPC scales with your dApp traffic.
- Wide suite of Web3 tools: Along with RPCs, users can also use Streams to set up robust blockchain data delivery systems without having to set up their own ETL pipelines. With Clusters, go beyond normal RPC and get an entire dedicated cluster of Cyber nodes, which is truly unmetered, isolated for your use, and scalable.
- Developer Resources: Easing the development process with products and education. With robust products, QuickNode offers high-quality developer resources in written and visual formats.
“After trying many different RPC providers, QuickNode was the most reliable. We wanted to bring that reliability to our community at Cyber, and we’re excited to partner with QuickNode on the shared vision of SuperChains.” said Ryan Li, Co-Founder @ Cyber
Create A Cyber Endpoint on QuickNode
Step 1: Sign up for a QuickNode account (if you don't already have one)
Step 2: After verifying the email, click on `Create endpoint`
Step 3: Select the Cyber chain and click `Continue`
Step 4: Select the network and click `Continue`
Once your Cyber endpoint is ready, it will look like this. You can interact with the Cyber chain using either HTTPS or WSS endpoints.

Why QuickNode?
QuickNode makes blockchain infrastructure easy, freeing developers to focus on the dApps (decentralized applications) they’re building instead of everything that goes into running blockchain infrastructure, such as DevOps/NodeOps, uptime, scaling, security, and tooling.
By eliminating the headache of node maintenance and synchronization and providing a comprehensive, end-to-end platform, we save developers valuable time, get a high-quality dApp to market faster, and help businesses scale and execute their Web3 strategies.
QuickNode is an indispensable tool in a Web3 developer’s arsenal that was created by developers for developers and battle-tested by industry-leading projects.
Today, the QuickNode network processes over 200 billion requests per month across 40+ networks in 14+ regions worldwide.
